Middlesbrough Council is seeking to appoint a highly motivated person to the position of Social Worker within a busy and successful Adoption Team. The Team is committed to meeting the placement needs of children via adoption and to providing high quality adoption support services. The role involves the recruitment, assessment, development and supervision of Adopters, which includes delivery of training and provision of skilled, professional support. Family finding for children and provision of counselling for those affected by adoption are also key tasks.

You will:

  • Have a DipSW or equivalent qualification.
  • Have a minimum of two years post qualifying experience in children and families work, including the placement of children in Fostering and/or Adoptive placements.
  • Have excellent communication skills and some experience in presenting and/or delivery of training.
  • Be able to demonstrate that you are registered with the GSCC.
