Learning and Skills Discussion |
|
|
|
|
On
1 April 2010, Learning and Skills Council ceased to exist with its work
distributed to three national organisations – Skills Funding Agency, Young
People’s Learning Agency and National Apprenticeship Service. This change is
underpinned by two significant policy changes on increasing investment for
young people between 16 and 19 years and demand led adult learning
provision.
Policy
and Representation Partnership, a partnership of voluntary and community sector
organisations in the North East, identified learning and skills as an area of
activity in the first year of the project which is being led by BECON. The
partnership aims to engage with voluntary and community sector organisations in
the region and increase their influence on the development of future policy
making in the region.
