Impact of economic recession on BME VCS in North East PDF Print E-mail

In the autumn of 2009, BECON began its research on the impact of economic recession on BME voluntary and community sector in the North East of England. This research was underpinned by our view that while BME organisations in the North East have been working under financial constraints; they have continued to provide services to their members. In the context of increasing economic uncertainties BECON was keen to explore what services BME VCS organisations were providing to their members, how these services were funded and what impact the recession has had on their work and lives of their members.

Limits on non EU economic migration through Tiers 1 and 2 Consultation PDF Print E-mail

North East Strategic Migration Partnershi (NESMP)
Responses are required by or before the 7th September [sooner the better]

The Government announced an annual limit on the number of non -EU economic migrants admitted to the UK to LIVE and WORK and have launched a consultation on the limits on non EU economic migration through Tiers 1 and 2.
Attached is a letter from the Government Migration Advisory Committee' Secretariat and a copy of the Consultation paper which includes questions that need answering.

At the NESMP Office will is happy to EITHER

  • receive your responses and collate and forward
  • OR for your respective organisation to send your own - but if you wish to share please send NESMP a copy
