The region’s biggest showcase of learning excellence. For the past three years the CoLaS Awards have taken the North East by storm. Each year the competition to win a coveted CoLaS trophy and attend the glittering awards night at the Sage Gateshead gets more fierce.

The region’s business leaders will join key employers, politicians, journalists, representatives from the education sector and the families and friends of the nominees for a spectacular evening of entertainment and recognition of achievement.

Raising Awareness of Work Ethics

This course is to create awareness of the British work ethics and the business culture. It will provide participants with tools to work and to engage effectively in a new environment.
RAWE workshops are aimed at BME's, refugees, women returning to work and migrants who wish to have a better understanding on cultural issues. The workshops concentrate on helping people adjust to a new environment, realise what their skills are, interview techniques and doing business in Britain as well as how to communicate effectively.

UK Points Based System of Immigration

In 2008, the government introduced points based system for non-European Union nationals to work and live in the United Kingdom. Recently, the government has expressed its intention to extend this measure to people seeking to acquire citizenship of the United Kingdom. Towards this end, a bill was introduced earlier this year in the parliament. The government is now consulting on measures to implement the points based system to citizenship. However, these proposals have come under criticism recently.
